You know those "harmless" butter knives that are the only ones your kid's can use well it turns out that a little thrust through an apple at just the right angle to the hand and those little serrated edges near the top can really be effective. Poor John. He had to have several stitches. His cries and screams filled the Greenbrier Valley Medical Center's ER. Luckily there was no nerve or tendon damage just a lot of blood. I think Mom and Lila were just as traumatized. No I didn't get to suture, or even watch. I, Dad the medical student, had to stay in the waiting room with Lila so she wouldn't have nightmares for the rest of her life.
